Inside the mind of a net marketer ex media planner
It’s already 11am, its been 2 hours since I opened up my laptop and my brain is still unfocussed on which task to do first, second and third. Its been 5 days since I left the ad agency to re-purpose my career (from media to online). The last 12 months have seen my online activities suffered.
The backlogs seem overwhelming, some of my sites have dipped in alexa ranking by huge margins, if you key in my name in google, the links have dwindled by half from 12,000 to 6,000. I take heart some keywords of mine are still on google radar. My adwords campaign is still on pause, till I optimize it, and I can’t do it till I find the time to go through the Google training materials on this.
So much to catchup on - also with the new laptop, I have had to redownload softwares - to submit articles, to do social bookmarkings, to discover some things dont work anymore like nicheinspector tool for keyword research. Yet another tool to explore , nichebot , to potentially replace this.
I guess the only thing that I have managed to do all this time is to drive traffic through Yahoo Answers, still I suspect the audience is far too young to have any value for conversion right now - except for Adsense income. More on Yahoo Answers next time. I must find a way to get that 50c to one dollar per click and to get clicks more frequently. Because if I don’t get quickly to the promised land, I have to go back to media! I need the money to pay for ppc and outsourcing, yeah and some food.
Half the day is gone, if you go by official working hours, and I still have not done what I am supposed to do, ie to post in one of the sites, upload video, identify materials to give away to build optin list, signup for an affiliate program.
I need to use Jimmy Brown’s system desperately… Allocate time each time for product, traffic and list. Be consistent. But before that I have to have a schedule..aaarrgh. He’s a freak scheduler!!! And he makes 6-figure income by working 3 hours a day for 5 days a week.
All I want to do is write or spend my time on strategies and content, if I could have my way. But right now I have to write articles, post on blogs, write sales letter, find ways to drive free traffic (and this is one long journey), research, research, write newsletters, send emails to list, start on a new pet project and which is to develop a new ebook
