A Singapore Internet Verse

There is a strange big wave this past year to hit  Singapore
Nope it’s not tsunami, or earthquake or the bird flu
They came shyly at first and and they came in small numbers too
But now, the minute your back is turned, there is even more

What is it, you might ask, you are curious
If you must know,my friend then I will tell you true
If you see Richard Tan of Success Resources
Run my friend, before you get sucked into.

Richard says he will never disappoint people
Who expect  that when he goes on stage he will peddle
You better believe this man
Because he is the successful man who thinks he can!

We learned of the exciting world of internet marketing
Despite ourselves we ditch our day jobs and hope to survive
Internet marketing is the new age and fashionable thing
To make money while you sleep and succeed in life

We believe in earnest, we better do
That internet marketing can make you a guru
There’s Guru, DoRu, and Patric Chan-do
If Patric chan-do it, so can you!

But Patric is a Malaysian, and we have our Singapore pride
Johan Mok burst onto the stage and Singapore slang he tried
However some said he is made in America so that doesn’t count
It doesn’t matter my friend, Ewen Chia is the hottest guy about town

The town is hit by more internet experts and there is one,
A mighty man with a mighty force and who fears none
He is known to be the man with a bullet in his leg
He frequents Singapore so often, let’s buy him teh tarik!

At WIS I learned of new things
Amongst which is the art of selling
Tom Hua will be remembered for his selling tricks
I remember my friend Jassu rushed for his tix!

My life is enriched this past year and then some
For I have shaken the hands of very successful men
They inspire me for their humility despite their success
Indeed Willie Crawford,Ted Ciuba, Stephen Pierce, they have class!

Alvin Toh is a man I salute alot
In the past year, this newbie is now not
He recently took the stage with Roy and Jaz
And they courageously did their show with pizazz!

The gurus say internet marketing will liberate you
From  the hard life of working and slogging
Truth be told, that is not entirely true
For I work even when I am sleeping.

My dreams will be about traffic and list
And the clever ways to work the least
Then there’s Web 2.0, social bookmark and youtube
And RSS feeds are not baby food!

I have no regrets, I have a lot of passion
But I wish I have plenty of patience and a ton of money
To keep me going while I diligently do optimisation
And make money this side of the century.

My partner Shafir and I vow ernestly
To be obscenely rich and be  at the top of the class
But if I quit this adventure a bit too quickly
I need you, my friends, to kick my ass!

The energy was tremendous, and in true Stephen Pierce style, he gave us invaluable knowledge, powerful motivation, a lot of heart and a lot of food!  Alicia is one incredible woman behind the powerful man.  We think she is the engine that drives the entire event.

Over the four days, we learned:

From Tim Erway & Jesse Jameson on some powerful optin strategies, and the good man, Tim gave me and Shafir some personal tips to our optin page.

From Adam Davis, we picked up a couple of cool tricks on Google Adwords, and this young handsome bright star took the time to look at our PPC campaign and gave good advice.

From Coach Deb & JP Micek on Blog360, which utilizes new media strategies in blogging and they gave knowledge generously and the PushButtomEasy template

From Patric Chan-do-it, his 5step system of affiliate marketing and made it simple for the newbies to understand

From our local heroes, Alvin, Roy and Jaz for sharing their success stories to inspire newbies to take action and believe in themselves and the system of making money online.

From Stephen Pierce himself, an insanely generous amount of strategies and techniques that no other gurus have ever shared.  Phew what a charismatic guy. His heart is bigger than his body and he is HUGE.

From all the personal development speakers who gave us the tool to shift our mindset, make proper affirmation, set definitive goals towards creating the momentum to move forward in our personal lives and business.

We came away with a bunch of new tools to add sensibility and meaning to what we do in online marketing and they will be well utilized.

More stories and lessons coming up, and pixs with the gurus.  I need my sleep….zzz

07 Specific Things You -MUST- Do To Make It Big In ‘07

By Jimmy D. Brown
http://www.SixFigureFormula.com
There must be some reason why certain people “make it big”
while others continue to struggle along with no real gains.

There is.

Whether you want to make your first thousand or your first
hundred thousand, here are 7 things you must do to have a
tremendous year in 2007.

*NOTE: These are in “countdown” format from 7 to 1.

7. *RESIST* distractions.

I’m not a prophet, but I can predict with great certainty that
you will be bombarded with more “offers” in 2007 than in any
previous year. There will be product launch after product
launch, the next big thing after the next big thing. You WILL
drown in information if you don’t learn two simple words -

“No Thanks”.

You simply CANNOT go from one offer to the next and ever gain
any momentum or see any significant results. I know, I know -
these offers are enticing. Here’s the thing, though: if they
don’t help you accomplish something you’re already trying to
do, then they are just another distraction. Resist them.

6. *REFOCUS* your efforts.

What would happen if Michael Jordan had tried to play basketball,
baseball, football, soccer and golf all at the same time? He’d
have probably been “good” at all of them, but “great” at none of
them.

He achieved greatness by singling out what he was best at and
focusing the majority of his efforts in that area.

You’ll find that this same principle applies to you and your
business. If you spread yourself thin trying to do too many
things you’ll most certainly do none of them well. However, if
you pick ONE primary aspect of building an internet business
and devote your full effort and resources towards that area,
we should see you on the All-Star team this year!

Ex. Don’t try to do affiliate marketing, create your own
products, eBay(R), private label resources, VRE, etc. all at
the same time. Find ONE stream of income and perfect it before
moving on to something else.

5. *REACT* positively to setbacks.

Yes, I’m gonna get rah-rah here for just a moment and play the
part of your personal cheerleader. :-)

Listen, there’s not a one of us who’ve had any level of success
online who hasn’t had our share of setbacks, failures and flops.
I know I have. The problem isn’t if you get knocked down, but
rather when you fail to get back up.

You’ll waste money this year on useless products. You’ll regret
the way you used part of your time. You’ll face a great
disappointment. You’ll fall flat.

Don’t stay down. Refuse to give in. Stand up and get back to
work on making this YOUR year.

Okay, enough of the pep talk. :-)

4. *REWARD* yourself.

It always amazes me when I ask someone “what would you do if you
made all the money you want this year” and I hear comments like…

- I’d go fishing.
- I’d play tennis.
- I’d relax at the lake.
- I’d read more books.

And so forth.

The question I then ask is, “why can’t you do that NOW?!”

Life is too short - way too short - to let it pass you by. Many
of the things you enjoy doing can be done RIGHT NOW if you set
aside time to do them.

What is the real measure of success - making money or enjoying
your life? I’ll let you decide.

3. *RESPOND* to appropriate offers.

Having warned you previously about the dangers of buying every
new “offer of the week”, let me emphatically state that there
ARE times when you SHOULD respond with a “Yes” to certain offers.

And then time is -

“When the offer will HELP you do something you’re already
trying to do, especially when YOU seek out the offer.”

For Example: If you’re wanting to start your own affiliate
program, then by all means by a course that teaches you how to
do so…but DON’T buy a course that teaches you how to buy and
sell “virtual real estate.”

You need to purchase materials that will help you complete the
task you’re trying to finalize, and avoid things that take you
away from the task you’re trying to finalize.

See the difference?

2. *REMEMBER* to manage.

The problem for most people is learning how to implement all of
the components of internet marketing (You know the drill:
list-building, affiliate links, web sites, traffic, etc.) into
one day-by-day workable plan.

That’s where it falls to pieces for most people. They’ve got all
of these ideas and all of this information and all of these new
enticing offers in their faces simultaneously…

And they don’t know what to do next.

It’s not about “marketing”, it’s about “management”.

You need - above everything else - to figure out how to MANAGE
your internet business and all of its components so you can
systematically build your business one step at a time, one day
at a time.

For more details on this, visit
http://www.ListAndTraffic.com/ecoaching

1. *RECEIVE* personalized training.

Let me ask you a simple question: which of these would you prefer…

(a) A map
(b) A tour guide

Listen, one of the reasons why building a successful internet
business is so challenging is because there is an abundance of
“maps”, but very few “tour guides”.

Ebooks, reports, audios, videos, articles - these are a dime a
dozen. But where is someone you can talk to, ask questions to,
get advice from, get customized help for YOU and YOUR business?

That’s a bit harder to find, isn’t it?

Especially at a price you can reasonably afford.

Yet, getting someone to personally SHOW you how to do it is an
important, if not required, piece of the puzzle.

I encourage you to find a mentor this year. Maybe it will be me,
maybe it will be someone else. It really doesn’t matter as long
as you find someone who is willing to invest time into YOU
PERSONALLY. Not an entire group of people on a call, but rather
interact with YOU one-on-one.

That’s what will ultimately help you more than anything else you
do in the next 12 months - to have someone who’s already learned
the ropes actually work with you personally to teach them to you.

(Note: I can only help 50 people if I’m going to PERSONALLY
interact with YOU, so you’ll want to reserve a spot quickly if you
want in - http://www.ListAndTraffic.com/ecoaching/

CONCLUSION:

If you do these seven things that we’ve looked at here in this
article, then there’s no reason why you can’t “make it big” in
2007.

The important thing is to remember that information is just
information until you act on it. What you’ve read are just words
on a computer screen (or on paper if you printed this out) that
have no real value until you put them into practice.

Best regards,
Jimmy D. Brown

10 Trends To Drive Traffic and Sales in2007

 Actionable Analysis

Sponsored by Coremetrics

By Heidi Cohen | December 21, 2006

Looking forward, the dominant online marketing trends for 2007 include increased consumer relevance, improved execution, and enhanced focus on testing and metrics. Driving these trends are evolving technology as broadband use becomes ubiquitous and a maturing interactive marketplace where gains come from improved efficiency.

2007 Trends

To increase traffic and revenue, the top 10 trends for 2007 are:

1) Online video advertising keeps growing. Rich media and custom programs will yield the biggest opportunities. “Publishers and advertisers will look beyond pre-roll and test different ad types to maximize revenue,” says About CEO Scott Meyer. “However, it’s unlikely that pre-roll will disappear anytime soon.” Cymfony CMO Jim Nail sees marketers creating more product demonstration and expert advice video (e.g., Kraft sponsoring Rachel Ray recipe videos).

2) Social media evolves. Social media will play a more important role as marketers better utilize and test this medium to drive advertising and search results. As a basis for this growth, NetConcepts president Stephan Spencer cites the fact MySpace already drives more traffic to retailers’ sites than MSN Search and over 50 percent of MySpace users are 35 or older.

3) User-generated content continues deepening engagement and giving users a voice. From a marketer’s perspective, authenticity and transparency are critical to succeeding with this approach.

4) Search marketing keeps expanding. Companies will learn to leverage dynamic content for search optimization and tap into search’s long tail in terms of expanded, unbranded search terms, in Spencer’s opinion. Reprise Media managing partner Josh Stylman views Yahoo’s Panama launch as the end of the true auction-based search buy since gaining top position in the search marketplace will be based relevant to what the user was doing. This will cause advertisers to evolve their search and contextual ad program management to focus more on the user experience. Jeff Culter, Answers.com’s CRO, sees improved branding opportunities through search and contextual advertising with greater options for contextually relevant content.

5) Improved e-mail execution builds customer relationships. By enhancing lifecycle messaging and other trigger messages, marketers can make e-mail efforts more relevant. Return Path CEO Matt Blumberg recommends proactive reputation management to increase e-mail to the inbox. Marketers must understand how both customers and ISPs view their companies and how to improve those perceptions.

6) Online content continues evolving. This is due to lower distribution and production costs and their ability to meet changing consumer needs and preferences. In contrast, Tacoda chairman Dave Morgan notes traditional media companies’ heavy cost structures and accelerating audience and advertising losses make managing declines in their businesses increasingly difficult.

7) Alternative content distribution channels such as RSS and tagging expand. Increasing RSS adoption has implications for distributing user-generated content and new ad formats. Publishers will become more adept at blending their content into services that allow users to aggregate multiple sources into a meaningful whole. Shore Communications’ John Blossom foresees an increase in ad-supported feeds and more sophisticated packaging of XML-based Web services with content and functionality.

8) Second Life continues to live while gathering competitors. Second Life’s success to date and the speed with which advertisers have embraced it are important drivers for Revenue Science SVP Jeff Hirsch. According to Second Life’s home page, people currently spend about $500,000 a day buying virtual items with real-world names.

9) Increased real-time testing and analytics sophistication drive bottom-line improvements. With more multivariable testing and other real-time optimization processes, Optimost CEO Mark Wachen notes the focus moving from audiences at-large to specific target segments. This shows the interactive market is maturing because a portion of bottom-line increases are made through incremental improvements rather than market expansion.

10) Integration with other channels improves. Marketers will reach and engage consumers where, when, and how they want to be communicated with. This is another sign that the online market continues to evolve. Stylman notes search’s self-serve ad model spreading offline to more traditional formats, such as print and radio. Silverpop strategy VP Elaine O’Gorman sees the move toward a more channel-agnostic marketing approach. “Marketers need to be where their customers are,” she says. To this end, messaging must be consistent and relevant across channels.
Analytic Implications

Since 2007 holds a combination of new technologies/ad formats and efficiencies, marketers should:

Monitor the environment for new trends and competitive changes. Given the online environment’s dynamic nature and the potential for significant changes, continue tracking emerging trends to determine their impact on your business. Also, watch competitor activity and relative market share to ensure your business continues to grow.

Track the critical metrics that drive your business. These metrics vary based on business and marketing mix. Focus on your business’ key drivers.
Continue testing different aspects of your marketing mix. You’ll improve efficiencies in driving traffic and increasing revenues. As the online market continues maturing, growth will come in increments from improved marketing.

Overall, 2007 will be a year when marketers focus on improving their execution of the more mature aspects of their marketing mix, such as e-mail and search, while finding better models for engaging consumers with newer forms, such as online video, user-generated content, and social media.

Five Personalities Emerge From Broadband Users

Demographics

By Enid Burns

Broadband users are often characterized as “one homogenous group of people,” says Josh Crandall, managing director of Media-Screen, a strategic market research firm that published “Netpop | Portraits” as part of its Netpop Research series of data.

Broadband growth has continued at a 60% compound annual growth rate, reaching one-third of all Americans over age 13. Its adoption has created a population of five segments with unique characteristics: content king; social clicker; online insider; fast tracker; and everyday pro.

The content king looks to the Web for entertainment. 76% of the group plays games online, and 75% of Web site visits are for personal reasons. Content kings spend an average 2.5 hours online each weekday.

“Content kings are typically younger in age and really drive growth in entertainment activities online,” said Cate Reigner, research director at Media-Screen.

Social clickers, who skew both young and old, use the Internet as a means of communication. The younger group uses social networking sites, IM, and other messaging tools to socialize, while the older group hinges its Internet use and communications more on e-mail. Within the group, 78% contribute to Internet content or information on a monthly basis. More than half of social clickers’ time (57%) is spent on communications. The remainder is spent on news and information (10%) and shopping (8%).

The online insider consumes content across the broader Web. According to the report this person sees the Internet as “a rich personal and cultural phenomenon.” Behavior among online insiders is like that of early adopters. 86% contribute to Internet content or information each month, including posting to blogs, community sites, and chat rooms. The group spends upwards of $130 each month on e-commerce.

“This is the group that’s going to vet new products and try things,” said Reigner. “They will vet for other groups and users who come along behind them.”

Fast trackers typically use the Internet to seek out news and information. Content categories include news, sports, and weather. Fast trackers remain loyal to sources with frequent updates and real-time information.

“They are looking at a lot of pages online, consuming a lot of inventory, and are receptive to advertising as well,” said Crandall. “[With them] it’s a little bit of an addiction, refreshing their browser window.”

The group reads news online (77%). It also typically looks up maps, directions, and public transportation information (66%). Reigner said fast trackers use the Internet to research products but typically buy in stores.

The everyday pro is characterized by personal productivity and efficiency and looks to the Internet to fulfill those needs. The group adopts complex tools to simplify life. About 84% use online banking, and 68 % purchase from online retailers.

“This group is older in age, and they are very much focused on the Internet as a productivity tool,” said Reigner. “They like to save money and time, and the Internet is a tool for total efficiency.”

Media-Screen conducted an online survey of 4,190 members of the Global Market Insite panel. Respondents were 13 years of age and older and were offered cash incentives to take the survey. Start rates for the survey were representative of the U.S. Internet population based on age and gender.

One of the easiest ways to make easy money!

I recently joined AGLOCO because a respected internet Guru recommended it to me. I am now promoting it to you because I like the idea and I want you to share in what I think will be an exciting new Internet concept.
AGLOCO’s story is simple:
Do you realize how valuable you are? Advertisers, search providers and online retailers are paying billions to reach you while you surf.  How much of that money are you making? NONE!
AGLOCO thinks you deserve a piece of the action.
AGLOCO collects money from those companies on behalf of its members. (For example, Google currently pays AOL 10 cents for every Google search by an AOL user. And Google still has enough profit to pay $1.6 billion dollars for YouTube, an 18-month old site full of content that YouTube’s users did not get paid for!
AGLOCO will work to get its Members their share of this and more.
AGLOCO is building a new form of online community that they call an Economic Network. They are not only paying Members their fair share, but they’re building a community that will generate the kind of fortune that YouTube. But instead of that wealth making only a few people rich, the entire community will get its share.
What’s the catch? No catch - no spyware, no pop-ups and no spam - membership and software are free and AGLOCO is 100% member owned. Privacy is a core value and AGLOCO never sells or rents member information.
So do both both of us a favor: Sign up for AGLOCO right now! If you use this link to sign up, I automatically get credit for referring you and helping to build AGLOCO.    http://www.agloco.com/r/BBBB1484

Learn How To Write Articles

Here’s the news, you need to know how to write some basic stuffs if you want to be an internet marketer.

If you are a Singaporean, it is not cool to write ala PCK slang, it ain’t fitting in the global environment :) .  Unless you are Cody Moya, whose very trademark is bad English - but you know he ain’t a newbie, he’s an affiliate superstar already.

When I started out, I heard the gurus said many things that you do not need to know to become a net marketer.  One of the things is writing.  They say you can easily get articles written for you (with money, of course you can hire anyone to do anything).

Sure, if you can’t write, it shouldn’t deter you at all from going forward with internet marketing.   Another way is to buy PLR (private label rights) articles and edit them to make them unique.

Friend, you still have to know how to write to edit.   And if you must know, editing is even harder than writing the articles, because you know why?  Firstly you need the skill to crystallise the idea, then find alternative vocabulary, and re-structuring the sentences and then see if , having re-written it all, does it still flow?

What seems to be a phenomenal trend I notice of late, is that writing articles and submitting them to the article directories seems to be the most cost-effective way of generating traffic to your website/s.   And you have to write a lot of articles to see decent results.   The gurus advocate it and from personal experience, I tell you it works.

As I move about in internet seminars and networks, in the midst of all the slick techniques and tips that marketers talk about, the poor newbies or maybe even not-so-newbies have one small concern.  How to write articles ah?  Ok, how to write anything, period.

I have several blogs and websites in specific niches which I write alot from inspiration, some from major editing. It’s the one skill I have to get me started on net marketing.  Do you have it?  I tell you now, you are going to need it.

If you are ready and persuaded that you need this skill, (for the long haul), find out the secrets of writing articles quickly and effectively here:

I wish you success.

Internet Usage Statistics

According to the Internet World Statistics, the fastest growing internet usage is coming from Africa, Middle East and Latin America.   However relative to population, the penetration in Africa is still fairly low at 4% while Middle East stands at 10%.

North America and Australia have the highest penetration of usage to population at 70% and 54% respectively. 39% of Europeans use the internet.

Asia has more than half of the entire population of the world, and although 10% of all Asian use the internet, in absolute numbers, Asia records the highest number of internet usage.

Interesting.

Makes you wonder where and what are the opportunities just by looking at these numbers.

Affiliate Marketing Without A Website

Many newbies might be overwhelmed at the thought of setting up a website before they can promote other merchants’ products.  As I have learned too, having a website is not the end all and be all to internet marketing.  If you want to know how, read on.

Affiliate marketing is a program that allows for affiliates to earn fairly high commissions for each successful sale they manage to refer to the affiliate merchant.  The sales page, the payment processing, the digital delivery, and post sales services are the responsibilities of the affiliate merchant.  All the affiliates have to do is to recommend and promote the product by referring people to the affiliate merchant’s sales page.

This can be done by encouraging key target consumer to click on the affiliate links exclusively provided for the affiliate.  These special links are vital for the affiliate marketers as they serve to let the system know that a visitor was actually referred by the appropriate affiliate.

How do affiliate marketers market the merchant’s goods without the benefit of a website?  Here’s sharing some techniques:

* Article marketing:  We all know how powerful affiliate marketing can be in link building campaigns.  But instead of providing for links to your own website, you could provide your affiliate links instead.  Article directories allow you a resource box where you can fill up your bio and a  link of your choice.  Some article directories do not allow affiliate links in the body copy, but affiliate links are allowed in the resource box.  There are many article directories available but the better ones to submit your articles to are www.goarticles.com , www.ezinearticles.com , and www.isnare.com .

* Forum marketing:  Online communities, or forums, are additional channels to promote your affiliate links to.  Membership in pHp 2.0 based forums gives you a signature box where you could advertise your affiliate links.   For every post you make, your signature box will appear.  If you post a thousand messages, you’ll have a thousand pages advertising your affiliate links!  If you wish to know the forums which are relevant to the subject serviced by the affiliate products  that you’re promoting you can use the tool at www.link-advantage.com/search to find the appropriate online community.

* Advertise in eZines:  This may cost you as many eZines charge for advertising space.  Nonetheless, this enables you to expose your affiliate links to highly targeted prospects using this approach.  If the eZine has a list of 10,000 people,, you will immediately be able to reach 10,000 quality leads with one advertisement.  Point is, you don’t need a website.  Just use your affiliate link in your ads.

Not having a website is not an excuse to not be successful online.  Most of the strategies listed here can be accomplished without spending a single cent.  If you do not have the financial resources to register a domain or to subscribe to a web hosting service, you can still achieve success with affiliate marketing.  Joining an affiliate program is free.  So is promoting your affiliate links, if you so wish.

Good luck!

How To Avoid 10 Biggest Mistakes in Affiliate Marketing

As I have learned,  there is a certain science to affiliate marketing and it does require strategic thinking to promote another person’s product.   This separates the super affiliates from the rest of affiliate marketers.   But many people, who are newbies or even those who have been doing this for years, may believe it is that easy to make recommendation by just providing a link.   Here’s a checklist of things to avoid in affiliate marketing:

1. Don’t believe that people would just click on your affiliate links just because they are there.   You need to presell and encourage people to click by highlighting the benefits of the affiliate merchant’s products.  By giving favourable recommendations and bundling with your own offer would entice readers to not just check out the package, but to buy through your links.

2. Organic traffic is a myth.  It’s a mistake if you believe that a website can generate natural traffic.  They have to find you and they can’t do that if your website is just sitting there doing nothing.   You need to learn how to make them find you through effective SEO techniques as well as through efficient marketing strategies.

3. One marketing strategy is insufficient to generate traffic , for eg, submitting one article to the article directories would not cut it.  This is a fatal mistake.  Do not limit yourself to a single, or even a couple, of marketing tactics as this will limit  the number of visitors you could generate for your website.

4. Tracking and measurement sales performance is key in affiliate marketing.  You need to make corresponding adjustments if sales dip or remain at low levels, but first you need to know where have you fallen short.   It is important to study every facet of our marketing strategies.  How many visitors are we generating for our website?  How many of them are unique?  How many are returning?  How much time do they spend in our pages?  Where are they coming from?  To where are they exiting?  These are the questions that can be answered by an excellent visitor tracking software program, and these are the questions that could help us improve the performance of our marketing endeavors.

5. Find sellable affiliate product to promote.  Do not just be persuaded at the high level of commission.

6. Find an affiliate program with a proven record of consumer satisfaction, one that has established relationship with its target segment in terms of recognisable brand and excellent service. You will have an easier time pre-selling such an affiliate program’s products.

7. Gain competitive edge by keeping abreast with the latest developments, techniques and news in the industry.  Internet marketing knowledge becomes obsolete quickly given the speed with which technology changes.

8. Do not stop investing on knowledge.  Knowledge likewise evolves and you have to evolve with it.  Update yourself with the latest tactics relevant to your area of online marketing.

9. Success is not eternal, you need to continually sustain it.  Do not  leave your business alone once it shows the promise of success, you’re just setting it up for failure.

10. Do not believe that affiliate marketing is a “get rich quick” scheme.   You have to invest a certain level of commitment, a lot of time in learning, some financial resources, and lot of effort if you wish to see the promised land.
